There are tons of gaming chair options out there. With all those options, it’s pretty easy to get overwhelmed or confused – especially when most of them look the same.

We’re on a mission to help you navigate all the numerous options out there by comparing two popular brands in this post: Homall and DXRacer. We’ll be taking two of their bestselling models and putting them in a head-to-head Homall gaming chair vs DXRacer battle.

At the end, we hope to answer for you which one you should get when all is said and done.

Featured Chairs

Let’s start by introducing our two contenders in this chair-themed cage match: the basic Homall gaming chair and the DXRacer Racing Series gaming chair.

Homall Gaming Chair

The Homall Gaming Chair is excellent for those looking for a basic and generally affordable option. It comes in a ton of colors so it can fit into just about any gaming room. You also got to love its 300-pound weight limit, which almost makes it perfect for our list of the best gaming chairs for wide hips.

DXRacer Racing Series Gaming Chair

This DXRacer Racing Series Gaming Chair is our other competitor. It’s the king of adjustability in this comparison. The angle of the back and the height of the armrests can be adjusted, allowing you to essentially tailor it to your unique comfort preferences.

Similarities

Aesthetic

Truthfully, most gaming chairs fall into the racing chair category these days. The two chairs in our comparison are no exception.

If you were to just quickly look at them, you might not even be able to tell the difference. Both have a sleek profile with colored accents and a five-point star base tipped with caster wheels.

Thus, if you like the look of racing chairs, you’ll probably like either one of these. Unless there’s a particular color you’re searching for – which we’ll discuss shortly – the visual look of these chairs won’t really help you make your decision between them.

Lumbar and Head Pillows

Have you ever sat in a chair with a stiff back that made you feel like you were leaning against a wall? It’s not exactly a cozy experience. If you’re going to be gaming for hours, you need to be able to lean against a chair that doesn’t feel like stone.

That’s why both these gaming chairs come with lumbar and head pillows. The pillow nestled against the base of the chair will provide support for your lower back, while the pillow at the top will cushion your head.

While we couldn’t guarantee that this will keep your back from ever feeling sore again, the pillows will make it feel more hospitable when you lean back in your chair.

Color Options

Both these chairs come in at least a few different colors. If you’re the type of person who spent time and money cultivating a particular atmosphere in your gaming room, this could be crucial. You wouldn’t want something that clashes with your decorations.

It’s important to mention, however, that the number of available colors varies depending on the chair. In that regard, the Homall model wins out, because it’s currently sold in several different colors while the DXRacer is only sold in a few.

360-Degree Swivel

Most gaming and office chairs have this feature nowadays, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that both these chairs have 360-degree swivel. You can easily spin around in either one of them.

One of the many benefits to this design element is how easy it makes getting up from your desk. If you tuck your legs under your desk, you can just spin to the side with the chair and get up without having to push away that far.

Additionally, you can rotate to look at other things in the room if you feel so inclined. We personally have other things in our gaming room, including a tv, so a swivel function is perfect for mobility to view it comfortably.

Material

The materials these chairs are made from are virtually identical. In either one, you’ll find foam, leather, and metal.

That’s pretty normal for gaming chairs. These materials help make the chairs reasonably lightweight and durable while still providing cozy support for your back.

Differences

Weight Capacity

These chairs might look a lot alike, but there is one big difference between them: the weight they can support. With a 300-pound weight limit, the Homall chair can hold 100 more pounds than the DXRacer one.

Depending on how much weight you need the chair to hold, this may not even matter to you much. However, even if you don’t necessarily weigh over 200 pounds, you might appreciate the stability of a chair that can support more weight. They just feel a little less flimsy.

Cost

We know as well as anyone that gaming chairs can get pretty costly. This is why many people on the market for one try to find the best deals possible.

It’s important to note here that prices are subject to change. We can’t guarantee that it will always be exactly the same as it was at the time of this comparison, but we can say that currently the Homall chair is quite affordable.

In other words, if you’re on a budget, it’s likely worth your consideration.

DXRacer Adjustable Armrests

There’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all gaming chair. To make sure each model is as inclusive as possible, most manufacturers will ensure that their chairs are adjustable.

At a minimum, you’ll usually find gaming chairs that have an adjustable height. It’s one of the easiest things to compensate for.

You don’t always find chairs with adjustable armrests like the DXRacer, though. Your arms and hands are what you’ll be using for gaming or even working – they might as well be as comfy as you can get them.

Homall Color Caster Wheels

A subtle difference between these two chairs is the color on the wheels. The DXRacer’s are a plain black color no matter which color version you choose.

On the other hand, the Homall’s caster wheels’ color always matches whichever version you choose. If you choose the pink one, for example, your chair will have pink wheels.

Again, it’s a small thing. Its impact on your use of the chair will be negligible. But it may have some aesthetic value to you. When you’re investing in a gaming chair, you’re well within your rights to factor in how it looks.

How to Choose the Right One for You

Now, let’s get down to the meat and potatoes of this comparison: which chair is better?

You might recall us saying not too long ago in this post that there’s no gaming chair that’s perfect for everyone. Because of this, the better chair for you will depend on your unique needs.

Start by looking at appearance, for instance. While both are sold in different colors, the Homall offers you more options than the DXRacer. If there’s a very specific color you’re looking for, odds are, it’s sold in the color you want.

The capacity of the chair is also crucial to consider. Remember, the maximum weight on the DXRacer is about 200 pounds, while the Homall’s is 300. Even if you don’t weigh over 200 pounds, you might prefer the Homall simply because it could feel more stable.

There are two main reasons you might choose the DXRacer here: familiarity with the brand name, and the adjustable armrests. That armrest adjustability might seem insignificant, but if you’re sitting at your desk all day with your arms outstretched towards a keyboard, it honestly can make a world of difference.

At the end of the day, our recommendation is to go with the Homall version if you want something that’s budget-friendly, colorful, and capable of holding more weight.

However, you can go with the DXRacer if you prefer the brand or absolutely need armrest adjustability for posture and comfort.
